Honduras- God is working here!

Dear friends,  I can hardly believe that I have been back for 10 days now!  I got back and immediately jumped back into life, which was hard.  I don't even know how to summarize what I experienced there, but I will do my best.  First, thank you for praying!  I did sense God's presence among us, and here at home things went quite well.  Nathanael especially did very well, and is even sleeping now like a baby should!  Thank you, God!

We went to Loma de Luz in Balfate, Honduras with a simple mission:  Meet the missionaries, see the hospital and various ministries there, and serve in any way that was needed.  I feel like our trip was successful in every way! Because I pray weekly for the hospital and the missionaries there, it was really significant to me to walk their dirt roads, eat in their homes, worship in their churches, play with the kids, just be in this place that has become special in my heart through prayer. So now I pray with new eyes and better understanding!

We worked very hard all day, every day we were there, serving the hospital in mostly mundane work.  We helped a missionary with a roofing project, laid wire for better internet connection down the side of a jungle hill, played with the kids in the children's home, sorted, cleaned and organized several bodegas (storage rooms), and helped bring some greenery to the newly added kindergarten.

pick ax!  This was hard work!

The missionaries were blessed by our team's willingness to serve, and all of us, including the 4 college students that we took, had such a great attitude!  We had a great team!  I was so thankful to get to know these college kids and walk with them through this life-changing experience!

We did take one afternoon off to enjoy the beauty of the Caribbean Sea.  The Hospital is just a few hundred yards from the coast.  It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.  We teased them about how they are really "roughing it!"
